We're finally doing it... This is such a defining moment. We're solidifying our roles in the online community with a dun-dun-dun...A BLOG! (Who came up with that term anyway? Blog? Sounds like somebody throwing up something....) Anyway, moving on. Not only do we have this where we can write whatever our hearts desire, we ALSO have (just a few days ago, mind you) an online store
, a myspace
AND a bunch of email addresses that make us seem super official (I'm super excited about this the most!).
Before I go any further, you must be wondering who is this "we/us" entity I keep mentioning, especially considering I quickly changed into the first-person mode. Well, "we" would be me, Cecilia and my lovely lovely friend, Summer – our history goes back as friends first, business partners second. We are the proud owners of Yesterday's New Vintage, your spot for almost anything vintage (actually, at the moment we specialize in searching for women's clothing, shoes, accessories, and jewelry...don't worry, we have hopes of soon venturing into menswear and home goods).
WE started putting Yesterday's New Vintage (anybody opposed to shortening it to YNV for blog purposes?) into the works (planning mode) over a year ago, and maybe about a month ago, REALLY put it in the works (taking it into online mode). It's been a rollercoaster year for YNV. Although we've barely started in the public eye, behind the scenes was a whole 'notha story. Let me tell you, despite the great shopping adventures, friendships were also tested, but in the end (or the beginning?) we got through it and are coming out strong to see what a new business has to offer.
I forgot to mention that today is a huge day for us, aside from the start of the buh-logging, as we're going to be sending out our first package to a REAL customer today! Woot woot! I had a dream about it last night (actually a bit of a scare because things weren't going so smoothly in the packing process, but thank goodness that's just a dream...). Nevermind that our first customer is one of our good friends (you rock Shannon!), a sale is still a sale and hopefully the first of many more to come.
Anyway, I must run (to my chili-mac-n-cheese breakfast) and let my partner in crime know that I've started this blog spot. I'll be back later (doncha worry bout a ting!). Give some TLC to the YNV in big SD!
