Melody Gardot is so dreeeamy...

Today I hurriedly and anxiously bought Melody Gardot's new album, My One and Only Thrill. Automatic A++++ from me!

Melody would be symbolic of what Summer and I are trying to accomplish with our vintage business...combining old with the new.

I came across this amazing woman about a month and a half ago through itunes and I've been in love with her voice since then. Talk about combining old with new...Something about her voice is reminiscent of the past, as if the souls of the likes of Ella Fitzgerald or Nina Simone (in terms of feeling) and Rosemary Clooney (in terms of a closer similarity in vocal stylings) lodged themselves in her as a vocal vessel. Yet, she brings to the table a very modern touch, that certain "je ne sais qua" that makes her appeal to today's audience. Soothing, haunting, aching, smokey yet clear as a bell, and overall dreamy...She definitely is an up and coming jazz talent.

Don't forget to check out her prior album, Worrisome Heart.
